‘Opening The Gates Of Heaven: Walk in the Favor of Answered Prayer and Blessing’, is a book about prayer. Perry draws from scripture and various other sources such as personal and family ministry experience, his dad’s teachings, and more to give the reader a comprehensive teaching on the subject. The book consists of two hundred fifty-one pages and includes an introduction, seventeen chapters of text, a conclusion, and notes.
He starts out teaching about Jacob and his vision of a ladder or stairway that angels went from Heaven to earth upon. Next he teaches on gates and their significance upon our prayers. He likens the gates of the temple to our five senses. Perry shows that as believers we each are temples of the Holy Spirit and our senses are the gates of relating not only to the world but the Holy Spirit as well. Next he touches upon the types and number of spices used in the temple in the Old Testament and likens them to the eleven plus types of prayer referred to in the New Testament. As you can see, Perry goes into a great deal of detail in this book. I’m not going to outline everything he went over as why then would you read the book for yourself?
There are some things Perry writes that people will argue over so my suggestion is, read the book, then search the scriptures and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth as Jesus tells us He will in the Bible.
